React’s Runners Raise Over £12,000 at the 2026 London Marathon
React’s 2026 Golden Bond places at the 2026 London Marathon have been a resounding success, with four incredible runners raising over £12,000 for families caring for terminally ill children.
After months of dedicated training and creative fundraising, the React Runners 2026 team went above and beyond to support children with life-limiting illnesses across the UK.
Inspiring Fundraising Efforts for Terminally Ill Children
From bake sales and bingo nights to international training runs, each participant brought passion, creativity, and determination to their fundraising journey:
Beth Russell: Turning Personal Inspiration into Impact
Inspired by the charity support provided to her cousin’s seriously ill child, Beth Russell took on the 26.2-mile London Marathon challenge to give back.
Her standout fundraising included a drag queen comedy show and bingo night, helping raise vital funds for families in urgent need.

Elle Atkin: Harnessing Social Media for Good
Paediatric nurse Elle Atkin, who regularly refers families to React, used her Instagram platform @runningwithelle_ to raise awareness and donations.
Her campaign demonstrates the power of digital fundraising and community engagement in supporting children’s charities.
Kate Holt: Training Abroad, Fundraising at Home
Kate combined rigorous marathon training in South Africa & Prague with innovative fundraising events, including a wine and cheese quiz night and a surprise video campaign organised by her husband—driving exceptional donor support.
Tom Birch: Community Fundraising Champion
Tom Birch, Volunteer Specialist at Rosterfy, leveraged his professional network to host bake sales and a lively pub quiz, proving how workplace fundraising can make a real difference for children with complex needs.
Crossing the Finish Line at the London Marathon
On race day, the team powered through one of the world’s most iconic races, the London Marathon, achieving personal milestones while making a lasting impact for React families.
Their collective efforts will help provide essential equipment, specialist aids, and urgent support to children living with life-shortening illnesses.
