The demand for React’s services in the West Midlands is one of the highest in the UK. To ensure React can continue to meet the growing needs of the area, the West Midlands volunteer group was set up and we invite you, as a member of the community to get on board and volunteer for React, so they can continue to assist children like Mahad…
Three-year-old Mahad has a progressive neurological condition, chronic lung disease and significant developmental delay. Since 2006 he has endured monthly blood transfusions and blood tests, and over the last year Mahad’s development has significantly regressed, meaning he is no longer able to walk, talk or feed himself. Mahad enjoys musical lights and toys, he also enjoys different types of puzzles and games which help him to develop his hand/eye co-ordination and learn fine motor skills.
When React was contacted by Mahad’s Community Family Worker, we recognised how the specialist sensory equipment would improve Mahad’s quality of life.
Thanks to the generosity our supporters and volunteers in the area, React was able to provide Mahad with the relevant equipment needed to stimulate learning and development at home.
There are a number of exciting volunteering initiatives currently available in the West Midlands. These include:
If you are interested in any of the above positions or would like to find out more, please contact React on 020 8940 2575, alternatively you can email react@reactcharity.org
Many volunteers can find it daunting or too time consuming to fundraise or organise an event in aid of React by themselves, so why not set up your very own React Supporter Group.
By setting up a React Supporter Group, you can jointly plan and stage fundraising events, spreading the responsibility and not placing the entire burden on one person. Supporter Group’s are also a great way of making new friends, whilst raising funds and awareness to help terminally ill children.
Supporter Group play a crucial role in promoting the work of React locally and raising vital funds through organising fun React events within their community.
