Fundraising for React at University
Freshers! Now you’ve settled into the world of university lectures, essays, and deadlines, why not help to raise money for terminally ill children by fundraising for React? University RAG societies are the hub of charitable activity and many will host fundraising events throughout the year, so why not see if you can join in with some of the following and support React:
With the word ‘pub’ in the title and the promise of competitively battling against housemates to see who really is the cleverest, no student can resist the allure of a pub quiz. University bars may allow you to throw one for a good cause, then all you need to do is grab your mates, throw up a poster or two, and prepare to listen to endless team debates!
Bake sales are a tried and tested tradition of fundraising. With The Great British Bake Off back on the TV, cake is on everyone’s minds and there could not be a better time to grab your whisks and rolling pins. Easy to do and fun to bake, no student can resist the call of icing sugar and cake! A sugary pick-me-up might even be a much needed morale boost to a student struggling through their first assignment.
RAG societies play a massive role raising funds for charity and suggesting React as a possible beneficiary could make a huge difference. If you’re a member of a sports team, why not play a friendly match with some of the ticket sales going to charity? Members of the English society could host an open mic night for poetry or storytelling in aid of React. The film society could put on themed film screenings of classic childhood films, with everyone who attends dressing up as characters! There really is no limit. Nominating React to any society is a huge benefit and, even if we’re not chosen, we thank you for thinking of us.
Talk about us!
Fundraising for React is important, but it is just as important for the public to hear about our work. Not only will this help to raise awareness, but it also means more families who require React’s help know who to turn to. So even if we don’t get picked by your society, or you’re no good at baking or quizzing, just chat to your friends about us and spread the word.
